CITL started in 2014 with singer songwriter and guitar player Bob joining forces with Meya and with a mutual appreciation of grooves, melodies and acoustic music started to play some gigs together. After a while developing harmonies and working on original songs they bumped into Ben the percussionist and the sound began to take shape. A year or so later they were performing at another venue session guitarist Bill saw them at a local venue and joined them as lead guitarist . Influenced by classic pop as well as folk roots and grooves, the full sound was finally complete when more recently Meya took up bass guitar duties.
They began gigging at venues and festivals around the South of England and also played some gigs in Germany. An earlier version of “How It Feels” (now superseded by the album version) was released as a single and selected track of the day on BBC Introducing South in April 2018.
Their debut album “The Ground Beneath Us” comprises 8 original tracks and will be launched in 2019. Recorded at the band’s home studio then was finished mixed and mastered by Mike Thorne at Rimshot Studios in Kent. Featuring just the band members and with minimal overdubs it showcases the band sound and songs.
